More a castle than a house, Tesendar Manor stands at the east edge of Phandalin on a low hillside amid woods and thickets.
The ancient manor has long been abandoned, and is little more than crumbling ruins. However the cellars below the kitchen are still intact, and lead to a larger system of caves and room, which were being used by the Redbrands and their leader Iarno Albrek as a makeshift stronghold.
Of note: under the manor is is the crypt of the Tresendar family, an armory stockpiled with various weapons, a room with a few prison cells, and a large cavern with a deep magically-cold crevasse running it’s length. The crevasse was the home of a nothic named Blinky — who fed on bodies preserved in the crevasse.
Around 1489DR, Tarsakh 23, Sildar Hallwinter began clearing out and cleaning up the manor and it’s cellars to be used as a training grounds and living space for the new Phandalin militia.
After proving themselves useful to the community and the region on many occasions, the Heroes of Phandalin were offered free reign of the old manor house, to come and go as they please, and use it as a base of operations.
